13th Science Workshop and Joint BoFEP/ACCESS Conference
The Bay of Fundy Ecosystem Partnership (BoFEP) and The Atlantic Canada Coastal and Estuarine Science Society (ACCESS) held a joint conference on May 18-21, 2022 at the Cox Institute of Agricultural Technology at the Dalhousie University campus in Truro, Nova Scotia or virtually online. The theme was: “Advancing Estuarine Science and Ocean Literacy in Atlantic Canada”

The theme of the BoFEP workshop was: “Sustaining the Bay of Fundy: Linking Science, Communication, Policy and Community Action”.

BoFEP Climate Change Project Final Report.
Two workshops were held in Bible Hill/Truro, NS (February 3, 2013) and Annapolis Royal NS (February 13, 2013) to: help municipal participants determine what climate change hazards and impacts might be expected
to occur and where; define and prioritize impacts that warrant further assessment;and understand how to incorporate this impact into their municipal climate change action plans. 78 pages.

Planners’ Workshops “Tools for Healthy Watersheds”.
Digby, NS – March 16, 2011, Saint John, NB – March 23, 2011, Sackville, NB – March 24, 2011. A series of Workshops jointly organized by BoFEP and the Ecology Action Centre for Municipal and Regional Planners from all around the Bay of Fundy. The purpose of the workshops was to increase municipal and regional planners’ awareness of the many complex linkages between land-based activities within their municipalities and the health of coastal habitats and watersheds, as well as to provide information on appropriate tools for watershed protection.

Planners’ Workshops – “Mitigating Impacts of Stormwater, Wastewater and Pharmaceuticals in the Environment”.
The ‘Stormwater and Wastewater Management’ workshops, hosted jointly by BoFEP and the Ecology Action Centre, in May 2012, were part of a larger BoFEP project titled ‘Utilizing a Comprehensive Approach for Addressing Toxic Chemical Concerns Affecting Sustainable Use of The Bay of Fundy’. The workshops were designed to help planners, municipal officials and other interested Stakeholders effectively manage stormwater while also Raising awareness on the impacts of pharmaceuticals In the marine environment.

The purpose of this meeting was to bring together a diverse group of resource users, scientists, managers, and individuals with knowledge of the local environmental characteristics to discuss the health and quality of the Minas Basin watershed.

Lisa McCuaig. February 2004. 30 pages [PDF format]. In 2003, the Minas Basin Working Group hosted a number of community forums in the Minas Basin watershed area. The Working Group implemented a work plan to address the issues that were identified at these community forums. Subsequently, the Working Group hired a coordinator to work with community groups to develop action plans for the Minas Basin Watershed. This report summarizes the results of this initiative.
